Our Gift from Heaven
I am dreaming of your fingers, I am dreaming of your toes.
How beautiful your face is, your eyes, your lips, your nose.
I know you will be perfect, blessed by God in every way.
I know you will be loved and cared for everyday.
You're an answer to my prayer, your an angel from above.
God has given us a baby girl to hold, to cuddle, to love.
I can't wait for your arrival, I can't wait to watch you play.
I can't wait to hold your little hand and snuggle everyday.
I will love you for a lifetime, I will love you more each day.
I will love you more than you can know, more than words can say.
Love, Mommy

It's Been a While

So it's been a while and lots of growing has been going on since my last post. Kara is now 16 months and full of personality and joy. We smile and laugh lots around our home these days and are ever increasing our skills as parents. A new life has taken over our home involving toys in every room of the house, little girl screams and giggles and hearing the pitter patter of little feet. The dog has adjusted to a new diet from the high chair and knows to head that direction any time Kara is eating. The space we thought we had is decreasing with each new stage she tackles and baby proofing the home has sometimes worked on us as well. Life is great and the blessings are pouring down from heaven. Until next time.

We're Home!!!
We arrived home with our sweet little angel yesterday May 4th in the evening. It has been some Journey to get to this point. We are beyond excited to welcome our Kara home. After a c-section and a long stay at the hospital I am so glad to be home. Kevin has done an amazing job taking care of Kara and myself the last few days when surgery limited my abilities. He did excellent!
Kara is amazing! She has such a sweet face and nature about her. She is beautiful and worth every bit of the journey to get her. She brings such warmth to our home and new family. I am thankful everyday for God's grace and miracle in giving us Kara.
Keep checking in for all the fun updates on our new family.

39 Weeks and Counting
Today I am 39 weeks and this little angel in my belly is getting ready to make her debut. I had a doctor visit today and my blood pressure has been a little elevated so the doctor wanted me to have a few test to make sure all is well. I was sent to the hospital and hooked up to a monitor to monitor Kara's heart rate and movement, she performed well. My blood pressure was also better and the blood work was all normal. I will continue to be checked 2x a week now since I am having BP issues, but only 1 week left, woohoo. It was just a little dry run with the monitors and all getting us ready for the big day. Can't wait to meet our little angel.

Enchanted Baby Shower
Last Sunday my wonderful friends at work gave me a beautiful Enchanted baby shower. The tables were dressed with chocolate brown satin, twinkling candle light, and fragrant soft pink roses. The cake was surrounded by the pale pink roses and an elegant candy dish of pink m&m's. The cake was beautifully decorated with roses, orchids, and Cinderella birds. The pink sash of frosting held up by blue birds announced the name of our baby girl Kara Kristine. A clothes line strung on the gift table held bibs, onesies, and many other baby necessities. The gifts flowed off of the table and to the floor. The centerpiece of the gift table was a cake. Not an ordinary cake but a diaper cake surrounded with pale pink and pale green ribbon, chiffon roses, and little mice and birds hinting Cinderella. The favors were mini carriages filled with chocolate kisses and said Melissa Day's Enchanted Baby Shower. The whole afternoon was filled with laughter and joy. My friends were wonderful to share this special time with me and I am blessed to have such wonderful people to work with.
Five more weeks
I am 35 weeks today and am so excited. I can't wait to meet my little girl. I am filled with emotion today even though due date is still 5 weeks away. My feelings are bubbling up in imagining the day I finally get to hold my baby and share the special moment with the love of my life and see him hold her for the first time. I continue to pray for healthy baby and healthy good delivery. God is good and will continue to see us through this journey.
Our baby shower is this weekend and we are so excited to celebrate with our family and friends. God continues to bless us through family and friends. we are extremely blessed.

Our 7th Anniversary and 1st day of Childbirth Classes
Yesterday was our seventh anniversary. Kev and I celebrated by attending our first childbirth prep classes. I guess it shows the transition that will be occurring in our lives pretty soon. We celebrated on Sunday by going to our favorite diner. I was craving a real ice cream milk shake, McDonalds just wouldn't work. We also did some car shopping for our expanding family.
Childbirth classes went well, we learned how to breathe during early labor, I am guessing its the easiest part. We learned how to do the labor dance and how Kevin can make me comfortable when the time comes by helping me with breathing. All and all it seems like it will be a good class and our instructor informed us we could close our eyes during the scary videos if we wanted. She doesn't want anyone passing out on her watch. I am looking forward to learning more about what will help me during the "marathon" I am approaching. Our classes continue for 5 more weeks on monday nights.
As for the seven years of marriage, I couldn't have asked for any better, I am truly blessed to have been lucky enough to find my best friend and husband. God has blessed our marriage and we can't complain.
